This month we are collaborating with Sandy Saengsuk of Thai Charm, and she is bringing us Autumn Folk, a selection of Art Gallery Fabrics prints she curated herself. It is a collection that plays with the season in a way you might not expect, and that is exactly what makes it so good to color.
But first, congratulations to PDQ1, winner of our August Challenge! Her mock-up of Sawtooth Starshine by In the Light Quilts was randomly selected from all the entries shared on the Wall, and she will receive an Evoke Fat Quarter Bundle sponsored by Ellene of Brave Nouvelle. Enjoy every one of those fabrics!
And now, shall we see what Autumn Folk is made of?
AUTUMN FOLK PALETTE
Autumn Folk started with the feeling of fall, but Sandy didn't want it to scream autumn. She wanted something warm and cozy, but not so seasonal that you'd only want to pull the quilt out for a few months of the year. So instead of sticking with traditional fall colors, she mixed rich burgundy, plum, cinnamon, and ochre with dusty pinks, lavender, soft sage, and warm creams.
She has always loved mixing colors and prints that feel a little unexpected together, because sometimes it's those surprising combinations that make a fabric pull really come to life. For Autumn Folk, the lavender and sage soften the warmer autumn shades, while the florals, stripes, and smaller prints keep things playful. As she says, it still feels like fall to me, just in a less traditional way.

Want to give Autumn Folk a try? Download her FREE Soft Grid Quilt pattern on the Thai Charm website, color your own version here on QuiltInk, and see where the palette takes you.
SEE THE PALETTE IN ACTION
This is what it actually looks like inside QuiltInk. You pick a quilt pattern, you switch to the Autumn Folk palette, and from there you can try burgundy where you had cream, drop sage into the background, move the plum around, and watch the whole quilt change in seconds.
No cutting, no fabric ordered, no second-guessing. Just color exploration until something clicks.
That is the part most quilters tell me they didn't know they needed until they tried it, and it is exactly what this challenge is for.

When she's not designing her next quilt, you'll usually find Sandy sewing, hand quilting, dreaming up another project, or sharing tutorials and inspiration with the quilting community through Thai Charm.
TWO PRIZES THIS MONTH
One winner, two prizes.
The first is a copy of The Patchwork Companion, sponsored by Sandy of Thai Charm. It is a skill-building quilt book with 14 approachable projects designed to help quilters grow their patchwork skills while making quilts they will genuinely enjoy along the way. Each project explores a different technique, from familiar favorites to ones that may be new to you, always with room to play with color, fabric and design.
The second is an Autumn Folk Fat Quarter Bundle, generously sponsored by Art Gallery Fabrics, so the same winner gets the actual fabrics from the screen straight into the sewing room.

On October 1st, we will randomly select 1 mock-up from all the entries shared on the Wall using the September Challenge palette. The more mock-ups you create, the more chances you have.
