August 26 QuiltInk Challenge Winner

Evoke fabric collection by Ellene McClay of Brave Nouvelle
September 1, 2026

September is here, and it's time to look back at a month that turned the Wall completely blue.

This past month we colored with Evoke, the debut fabric collection by Ellene McClay of Brave Nouvelle, and I don't think any of us were quite prepared for how far you would take it. Those Prussian blues, born outdoors from cyanotype prints and sunlight, went from the deepest navy to the softest sky, and you used every inch of that range.

Evoke is available for pre-order in Ellene's Etsy shop, in different bundle sizes, so you can reserve yours now and it will come to you as soon as the collection is ready.

Some of you used the darkest prints for the background so the lighter ones would stand out, others kept everything soft and light, and a lot of you put fabrics together in ways I would never have thought of, which is always the best part of watching a challenge.

We closed the giveaway with 209 mock-ups this month, and browsing them one after another was a real pleasure.

But you're here for the announcement, so let's get to it.

🎉 PDQ1

Congratulations! 💛

PDQ1's mock-up of Sawtooth Starshine by In the Light Quilts was randomly selected as our winner, earning a Fat Quarter Bundle from the Evoke collection, kindly sponsored by Ellene of Brave Nouvelle.

You'll be hearing from me by email very soon with all the details.

A huge thank you to Ellene for sponsoring this prize and for trusting QuiltInk with her very first fabric collection. Watching her debut land on the Wall and seeing so many of you fall for it has been one of the loveliest things to be part of this year.

And to everyone who joined in, thank you. Every mock-up shared on the Wall gives somebody else an idea they hadn't thought of, and that is exactly what makes this community what it is.

If you haven't gone through all the entries yet, head to the Wall and filter by Past Challenges. There is a lot of blue waiting for you there, and plenty of ideas for your next quilt.

And if you're already wondering what comes next, stay close. A new palette is on its way, and I cannot wait to see what you do with it.

Happy coloring! 💛
