When a new pattern comes out, the first thing I want to do is sit down and start coloring it, just to see where all the color possibilities take me, and Holly Beary by Lisa of @shadowvalleyquilts released yesterday so I have been having a lot of fun with this one 🌿
Lisa took two of the most traditional blocks in quilting, bear paws and nine patches, and arranged them so what you actually see are poinsettias and holly berries. I keep going back to look at it because it’s such a clever way to use blocks we all know so well.
The blocks are nice and big, which means this quilt pattern comes together quickly, and while it sings in Christmas colors, Lisa points out that it looks just as good in any color way, so there’s no reason to put it away in January. Four sizes to choose from, baby right up to king.
Head over to QuiltInk to make your own quilt mockup and play with your color version, then grab the pattern from Lisa 🌿
