Free, festive, and nine weeks of blocks to look forward to, and I already have fifteen color versions I can’t choose between 🎄
The Solstice Sampler 2026 by Amber of @alderwoodstudio starts October 12th, with a new block arriving every week until December 14th, all designed by a group of modern quilt designers. By the end you’ll have a cozy 60" x 60" winter quilt, and you can already color the whole thing on QuiltInk while you wait for the first block.
This time I wanted to show you a bit more than the finished mock-ups. On every image you’ll find the fabric line I used, the palette, and the color approach behind it, from analogous and complementary to monochromatic, triadic and even a fully achromatic version. Same nine blocks every time, and the mood changes completely depending on how the colors relate to each other.
