New Quilt Pattern: Bundle of Blooms

Pick your garden 🌸

The second new pattern from Delia of @a_stitch_is_a_stitch is here, and I have to confess this is the one I couldn't stop playing with.

Bundle of Blooms is a whole quilt of flowers. Every time I swapped the fabrics a different garden showed up on my screen: a cottage garden, a moonlit one, a row of sunflowers, even a desert in bloom. I ended up with twelve, half in prints and half in solids, some on light backgrounds and some on very dark ones, because I wanted you to see how much this quilt changes with the fabrics you give it.

And if you're wondering how it's made: stitch and flip and log cabin blocks, two classics.

Which garden would you plant? Tell me below, then go color yours on QuiltInk🌷

The first garden had to be a cottage one. This is Cottage Blooms by Soph Rowe for Cloud9 Fabrics: Fleur Cocoa petals around a Hearts Tomato center, on Hearts Ivory, with Tulips and Vera Dusty Rose around them. Pink on pink on pink, and it works.

Then I went dark. Dahlia is all Bella Solids by Moda Fabrics, with Cameo petals and a Dijon center on Prune, and Eggplant and Lilac in the frames. Solids make the flower shapes so crisp.

A garden at night 🌙 Celestial Garden by Alexandra Bordallo for Andover Fabrics, with Moonlit Moths Cream petals and a Starwoven Garden Tawny Gold center, all on Twilight Teal.

Lavender, in Kona Cotton by Robert Kaufman. The petals are Lavender (that really is the name of the color), the center is Meringue with a little Tulip, and everything sits on White with Silver and Shale. Clean and calm.

This is my October garden 🍂 The Apothecary by Amber Elliot for Riley Blake Designs: Serpents Autumn petals and a Celestial Gold center on Night Sky Midnight, with teal in the frames.

Not every garden needs rain. Desert is made with Pure Solids by Art Gallery Fabrics: Ocean Fog petals on Toasty Walnut, a Sweet Macademia center, and Spruce and Vanilla Custard around them.

Wildflower is the busiest of the twelve, and that is exactly why I like it. A Year in Petals by Bonnie Christine for Art Gallery Fabrics, with Smoky Blossoms Cloud petals, a Harvest Honey center and Appalachian Golden Hour behind them. The frames are Delicate Vines Sage and Bountiful Garden Night.

White flowers on deep green. Century Solids by Andover Fabrics: Ivory petals, Goldenrod centers with Barn Rose tips, on Hunter, framed in Leaf and Sage. It could almost be a Christmas quilt 🎄

Peach and olive, like a kitchen garden at the end of summer. Petalush by Kiley's Quilt Room for Moda Fabrics, with Herb Garden Velvet petals and a Petalush Ballerina center. The greens are Herb Garden Moss, Tapestry Meadow and Tapestry Pine.

The classic one. Rose, in Cotton Couture by Michael Miller Fabrics: Adobe petals, Honey centers and Antique tips on Moon, with Linen and Aloe in the frames. Sweet without being sugary.

Into the woods 🌲 Juniper by Sharon Holland for Art Gallery Fabrics. Nordic Knit petals and a Wishing Flowers center on Herbage Viridian, with Juniper Grove Evergreen and Timeless Ticking Sage around them.

And to finish, sunflowers against a blue sky 🌻 Confetti Cotton by Riley Blake Designs: Honey petals and Teddy Bear centers on Storm, with Dream and Basil in the frames. Yes, the brown is called Teddy Bear.

Twelve gardens, one pattern. Which one would you plant? They are all on the QuiltInk Wall if you want to see them up close, and Bundle of Blooms is waiting for your own fabric choices🌷
